5-Day Courses at handPRINT Studio, 2008

"the tutors have had us in a creative fever all week. Fantastic tuition given with humour and patience...."

Our 5-day courses are designed around the individual, and can be structured as you wish. The structure is on a 2-1-2 basis, being divided into 2 days, followed by 1 day, followed by 2 days. This allows either an intensive 5-day period of investigation, or a varied series of 'sample' experiences, depending upon your own wishes and requirements. Possible course structures could be as follows:-

1. Intensive exploration course:

Days 1 & 2 Collagraph/Carborundum printmaking (introduction)
Day 3 Collagraph/Carborundumprintmaking (individual exploration and experimentation)
Days 4 & 5 Collagraph/Carborundum printmaking (advanced)

This approach can be adopted for any of the processes we offer.

2. Two-tier exploration course:

Days 1 & 2 Collagraph/Carborundum printmaking (introduction)
Day 3 Collagraph/Carborundumprintmaking (individual exploration and experimentation)
Days 4 & 5 Non-toxic Etching (introduction)

This approach can be adopted for any of the processes we offer.

3. Multi-tier exploration course:

Days 1 & 2 Collagraph/Carborundum printmaking (introduction)
Day 3 Individual exploration and experimentation
Day 4 Monotype (introduction)
Day 5 Drypoint printmaking (introduction)

This approach can be adopted for any of the processes we offer.

Please note that Day 3 (Wednesday) is given over to individual work. This day will be supervised, but largely untutored, allowing the individual to work independently and to consolidate their learning in their own way.

Please note also that the structures outlined above are only examples, and that the individual is free to structure the course in any way they wish.

The cost of the course is £260.00, which includes tuition and all basic materials.
